Chatterboxbride and Nolan's Story.
Saturday morning my water broke, DH and I went straight to the hospital, it was only minutes later that the nurses immediately knew something with LO was wrong. A doctor came in and confirmed our absolute worst fears, his heart had stopped sometime since my Monday afternoon appointment.
After several hours of contractions I was ready to push. 2 hours and it became obvious that it was going to be impossible because he was simply to big. I had a very quick and smooth emergency c-section. Nolan was 9lbs 6oz, 21 inches and had a very thick head of brown hair. The cord was wrapped around his neck, which they believe caused his death.
I had a lot of complications during recovery, my fever spiked to 101.6, and I hemorrhaged, losing 2400ml of blood. I was finally wheeled tomy room a few minutes before midnight (Sunday was his due date and my one year wedding anniversary). My mom brought us the top tier of our wedding cake to eat, we shared the rest with all of the nurses. Not at all how we thought our anniversary would be celebrated.....
My c-section recovery is actually going fairly well, right now we're just overwhelmed with emotion and trying to work with social services and mortuary affairs. Our church started a fund for everyone to help us with our expenses, my best friend set up a fund through March of Dimes to collect donations in honor of Nolan to fund research for infant mortality and premature babies.
This is the most physical and emotional pain I've ever experienced but I know with all my heart that Nolan is in heaven.
